(DEL VALLE, Texas) – The Del Valle ISD Fine Arts department is hosting its 5th Annual Fine Arts Event on Saturday, April 21, at Del Valle High School to showcase students from every grade level in art, culinary, dance, digital arts, music, and theatre. Texas House of Representative Eddie Rodriguez will be in attendance and will be giving a speech.

The event is from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and is a free community event. The 5th Annual DVISD Fine Arts Event will have Learning Enrichment After School in Del Valle (LEAD) Exhibitions, Visual Art Exhibition, Fine Arts Performances, Hands-on Activities, Cooking Competition, over 1,600 students’ showcased and more.

“The Fine Arts Event is designed to illuminate the outstanding fine arts programs we have across the district and to develop an arts rich culture for the Del Valle community,” Fine Arts Coordinator Jenny Parry said. “Our hands-on art activities are hosted by art teachers in Del Valle, galleries, museums, and arts organizations. Our goal is that the Fine Arts Event is attended by the entire Del Valle community and surrounding area.”

The Del Valle ISD Fine Arts Event began in 2014, which showcase fine arts students in band, art, choir, culinary, dance, digital arts, instrumental music and theatre. The event has inspired other districts from across the state and has become the example of community celebration of the arts in public education.
