(DEL VALLE, Texas)The Del Valle Education Partners (DVEP) introduce the Legacy Award, a first of its kind, in which the Assistance League of Austin and Parson’s Lodge #222 shared the honor in being the first recipients in DVEP history. The annual Year-End Celebration was held on Wednesday evening at the Velocity Lounge at Circuit of the Americas to honor these recipients and more.

The Assistance League of Austin provides two key clothing assistance programs, Operation School Bell, a clothing closet for elementary students, and Threads for Teens, a program in which secondary students are given the opportunity to shop at a designated retail location.

Parson’s Lodge #222 has partnered up with Popham Elementary School for 28 years by providing career fairs, backpacks, school supplies and recognizing students and teachers. Their legacy will be the amazing writing event held each year at the “Giving Tree,” a historic oak tree at the original Popham campus site on Cardinal Loop.

The Year-End Celebration also honored the District’s Top Volunteers, Top Mentors, and each campus’ Staff of the Year recipient. Other awards included Rookie of the Year, Big Things Come in Small Packages and Distinguished Partnership. Those awarded made a difference in our community by donating or contributing their time and resources to students, teachers and staff.
