DEL VALLE, Texas — A Del Valle High School sophomore will be a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leader on June 23 – 25 in Lowell, Massachusetts, to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the country’s top students who aspire to be physicians or medical scientists.
Michael Rush will attend the three-day Congress with other students from across the country to hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science Winners that lead medical research, get advice from professionals on what to expect from medical school, witness stories from patients who are living medical miracles and learn about cutting-edge advances in medical technology.
“Focused, bright and determined students like Michael Rush are our future,” said Richard Rossi, executive director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientist. “He deserves all the mentoring and guidance we can give him.”
Rush’s nomination letter was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and the Science of Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientist, to represent Del Valle High School based on Rush’s academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.
