DEL VALLE, Texas — A Del Valle ISD middle school will be presented a $5,000 grant on Thursday, May 9, for a campus garden presented by Superior HealthPlan.
Ojeda Middle School will create a Zine Garden for students, families and mentors. The garden allows students to help build their mastery moments in a safe, controlled outdoor space. The new garden will include enclosed seating.
“We are excited to give students an area to enhance and learn agriculture,” said Ojeda Middle School Parent Community Liaison Rebecca Gomez. “Giving students, families and mentors a space of tranquility to help ease their minds and an area for students to enjoy lunch with their parents and/or mentors.”
The Superior HealthPlan grants are up to $5,000 and are available to participating Superior providers and community organizations focused on promoting the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
