(DEL VALLE, Texas) – Del Valle ISD sent the following information to Del Valle residents on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Capital Area Shelter Hub Plan (CASHP) is now active to receive evacuees from Hurricane Harvey. The two shelters that are currently open to evacuees are located at Delco Center, 4601 Pecan Brook Dr., Austin, Texas 78724 and LBJ/LASA High School, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive, Austin, Texas, 78724. The City of Austin is providing information about additional shelters around the Austin area through their Twitter account – @austintexas.gov.

Del Valle ISD encourages the community to stay safe during the inclement weather situation throughout South and Central Texas, and to be prepared with essential supplies and shelter information throughout the weekend.

Before you go to a shelter, always check with your local emergency management agency for availability & services. The CASHP is a regional network of emergency shelters operated by the City of Austin, Hays County, Travis County and Williamson County.

As active shelter information and weather may change rapidly, The City of Austin will be relying on the following channels to communicate the most recent information:
