(DEL VALLE, Texas) – Dailey Middle School is a finalist for the Mayor’s Health Fitness Award, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at City Hall.
Dailey Middle School is being considered for the award after applying for the healthiest school district grant during the summer. Representing Dailey Middle School will be Principal Mario Palacios and Parent Community Liaison Patricia Taylor.
“Dailey Middle School is committed to providing a healthy environment to our students, teachers and staff members,” Palacios said. “A huge part of achieving student success academically is being mentally and physically healthy. By having a healthy campus, we can successfully grow.”
The Mayor’s Healthiest School Award highlights schools that have implemented healthy changes to create school environments that support the health and wellbeing of students.
Del Valle ISD is serving local fresh food on all campuses, the district provides mobile food banks throughout the year for our community members and have partnered with Common Threads, a program that offers cooking classes and lessons on how to save money by using smart shopping tips.
