On Monday, February 17, Del Valle ISD campus teachers, instructional aides and administrators will be participating in a 1-day staff-led conference at Del Valle High School from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The purpose of this conference is to showcase the best ideas and instructional practices that are currently being implemented by DVISD staff. Campus staff will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues throughout the district on instructional practices evidenced to be successful with Del Valle ISD students.

The conference is arranged by strands which make up the professional learning compass of the District: Aligned Curriculum, Aligned Behavior, Aligned Literacy, and SPED/ELL’s/GT Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices. All professional development sessions will allow DVISD staff to “learn, share, and connect” in areas of most interest and need.

“We are excited about our upcoming Teacher Mini-Conference. Every year we get feedback from teachers about the great things their peers are doing in the classroom and with students. This is that special place where we get to showcase it for all to see,” said Del Valle ISD Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction Sonja Howard. “We have something for everyone from every area of our district compass and also include special topics such as Mindfulness for Teachers, Playwriting in Theater and English Language Arts and other creative topics.”
