After careful consideration and discussions with the state Commissioner of Education and Superintendents in Central Texas, Del Valle ISD determined that it is in the best interest of our community to remain closed through May 1st. The closure includes cancellation of all extracurricular activities, athletics, after school programs, and events.

During the closure of schools, Del Valle ISD will follow an Alternate Learning Plan. For the remainder of this week, all students will continue to use paper lessons that were provided on the Friday before Spring Break and delivered on meal bus routes this week.

E-learning for students in Grades 3-12: E-learning through Google Classroom will begin on Monday, March 30. For technical support with technology during closure, parents can call 512-386-3666 or join a google hangout from 8A-4:30PM. Information posted on the campus websites. Instruction for students in Prekindergarten-2nd Grade: Grades PK-2 will not be required to use Chromebooks. Instruction for primary students will be delivered mostly through paper materials. These materials will be available on the meal bus routes and pickup locations.

This week, DVISD teachers spent time learning and preparing for the E-learning plan. Details on the E-learning Plan will be communicated on Friday to families. Many families will also receive phone calls directly from their student’s teacher with more information.

Meal Program: We are committed to ensuring all of our students continue to receive daily meals easing some of the burden on families while we are closed. We will continue to provide a packaged breakfast and lunch for all students while our schools are closed. For the remainder of the week, daily distribution will continue.
