The Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees unanimously passed a one-time salary increase for teachers and staff at the May 19 board meeting. The employee compensation increase is effective for the 2020-2021 school year.
The one-time salary increase is for all teachers and staff except for the Executive Leadership Team. The one-time salary increase will be paid as a lump sum that accrues proportionately as services are rendered and is payable upon the employee’s completion of services for the school year on the last paycheck of the school year.
The one-time compensation increase is based on years of experience:
- New hires with 0 years of experience: $500
- Current and new employees with 1-9 years of experience: $750
- Current and new employees with 10 or more years of experience: $1,000
This equates to an average overall salary increase of 2%.
“We value our teachers and staff and want to ensure that we compensate them for the superior education they provide our students while remaining fiscally responsible during these uncertain times,” said Superintendent Dr. Annette Tielle.
Board approval of the Employee Compensation Proposal also increased stipends for Bilingual educators to $7,000.
